It was a beautiful day in Chicagoland. Precisely the kind that inspires truancy in people like Ferris Beuller. And, since our Realtor® was holding an open house at our condo today, in people like us too. We went to the Chicago Botanic Garden. I've never been before, but I must advise you to go there immediately. It's one of the most beautiful man-made places I've even been. It would be Paradise if they put a massive library on premises and cleared out all those people.
Our visit was impromptu, so I didn't have a real camera. So I took a few cameraphone shots. I like to think that the subject matter and the crappy unfocussed quality of the VGA phone combine to give these images an Impressionist quality. View photos.
P.S. If your kid is currently in a phase where she obsessively insists that you read to her every single sign, sticker and placard that you encounter, please be aware that it's a botanic garden. Every. single. freakin'. plant. has a label.
Just a heads up.
